Rashawn was raised playing basketball, performing in musical theater, and dreaming of one day flipping around like his hero Zach, the original Black Power Ranger. It wasn't until his sophomore year of high school when he decided to quit basketball and join his high school's diving team that his dream slowly became a reality. From there, he went on to become a award-winning competitive dancer and power tumbler. Performing and tumbling soon grew to be his main interests.
Rashawn started his coaching career at the age of 14 when he choreographed and coached his church's hip hop dance team. It was then he recognized his love for coaching and influencing young people would be a huge part of his life. Being raised in the foster care system helped him realize he was going to commit his life to coaching and being a positive light for as many young people as possible. In college, he had the opportunity to do just that by traveling the country teaching cheerleading, dance, and tumbling camps to athletes of all ages. He has currently taught in 47 states and hopes to continue traveling the world and inspiring young athletes.
Rashawn is a graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Communications and Rhetoric. Along with coaching, he is currently a professional cheerleader for the LA Clippers. His passions also include dance, weight lifting, acting, all things athletic, and cooking just to name a few. He is beyond excited to join the JAG family and work with you all!
